It’s time to fix some things.  There's a lot of broken stuff around us; in our homes, our cities, our schools, parks, and governments.  From leaking pipes to toxic seas, from burned out lightbulbs to crumbling energy infrastructure.

We need a way to manage the process of service and repair. The time has come to fix this stuff.  It’s time to fix this planet.

FixThisPlanet.com is a early-concept prototype that aims to create a project-management space around the idea of problem-solving, trouble-shooting, and plain old repair work.

Sometimes, a broken thing can be repaired with minimal effort, and minimal cost.  Other problems are larger or require more resources.  There has to be a smart way to fix the broken things that surround us.  We, as users of this planet’s resources, need to step up and perform a little preventitive maintenance as well as just get some things up and running again.

How are we going to accomplish this?  The answer is in the magnitude of the “we” in that question.  Is our collective “we” a big enough crew to get the job done?  FixThisPlanet.com thinks it can be.

To read about how this is being proposed and to get an early glimps of the application, check out the blog post here.

A large-scale goal?  Absolutely!

This is a project for engineers and designers, artists and mechanics, makers and craftspeople, plumbers and nurses, fathers and farmers, teachers and crane operators.  The list of action-takers is endless… it is a place for those who do things.  And, who make things happen each day, every day.

It’s time to start using our tools.*
